The Emergence of Beaded Diamond Embroidery

Diamond embroidery is a relatively new form of needlework- at least when compared with other forms of embroidery. The work is credited to Gerlinde Lenz; she has been one of the two European weavers the other being Cath Thomas who has further advanced the course of diamond embroidery. Both of them have been in the business of weaving for over two(2) decades now.

Putting diamond embroidery into perspective, one would observe that it bears some similarities with the Right Angle Weave but a closer look will let you see the difference in the structure; moreover diamond embroidery tends to be simpler to work than the right angle variation.

However, what we have when beads are introduced into the work (Diamond embroidery) is Beaded Diamond Embroidery. And there are a number of dimensions by which beads can be added to this particular type of embroidery: one is the horizontal extension format, and the other is the horizontal bridge variation. This (diamond) embroidery requires a lot of attentiveness and perseverance to learn.

On the other hand, in respect of how it has been optimized beaded diamond embroidery are now being used in designing outfits, bracelets, bags, and some other items.
